Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • 2 goals
  • Cones for perimeter
  • Soccer balls
Setup
  1. Area: 30x30 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: Two small goals placed back-to-back at the centre of the area, surrounded by a no-entry cone circle
  3. Team Red: 1 red outfield player (defending team) starts outside the cone circle, positioned centrally between the two goals to cover both
  4. Team Blue: 2 blue outfield players (two attacking teams of 1, combined) start spaced evenly around the outside of the cone circle
  5. Equipment: Cones marking the 30x30-yard area perimeter, plus a ring of cones around the two goals forming the no-entry zone
Instructions
  1. Attackers aim to score in either goal using first-time shots or volleys.
  2. Attackers must stay outside the cone circle when attempting a shot.
  3. Defenders prevent goals without entering the cone circle.
  4. Keep the ball in play after a goal or a missed shot.
  5. Rotate teams between attacking and defending roles.
Coaching Points
  • Emphasize communication among players.
  • Encourage quick decision-making on and off the ball.
  • Focus on maintaining a good first touch.
  • Keep heads up to assess passing options.
  • Ensure players make strategic movements.
  • Deliver accurate, well-timed, and disguised passes.
  • Provide prompt support to teammates.
  • Adopt an open body shape to enhance ball control.
  • Discourage forced passes to maintain possession.
  • Foster constant ball movement.
  • Highlight passing angles and optimal distances.
  • Promote creation of space through team coordination.
  • Encourage players to observe play and adapt.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area.
2. Limit the number of touches allowed for each player.
Make it easier:
1. Expand the playing area size.
2. Increase the number of players on the attacking team.
