Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Balls
  • Cones (to mark the area)
Setup
  1. Area: 20x25 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 2 outfield players per pair, positioned one at each opposite end of the area, one ball per pair
  3. Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 20x25 yard area
Instructions
  1. The player with the ball executes various skills like feints, turns, and fakes as they move across the area.
  2. Once reaching the other side, they pass the ball to their partner.
  3. The next player repeats the sequence back across the pitch.
  4. Encourage continuous play with each player moving creatively and effectively.
Coaching Points
  • Promote frequent hydration throughout.
  • Encourage clear communication among players.
  • Gradually build up the intensity.
  • Monitor players' first touch, movement, and focus.
  • Ensure players increase intensity to raise heart rate and warm muscles.
  • Keep sessions fun and relevant to the main training goals.
  • Emphasize the importance of a progressive warm-up to prevent injuries.
  • Encourage creativity and quick, effective movements.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the area size.
2. Add a defensive player to increase pressure.
Make it easier:
1. Reduce the area size.
2. Allow more time for execution.
3. Focus only on simple dribbling at first.
