Equipment
  • Soccer balls (one per player)

  • Bibs (as 'treasure')
  • Markers for playing area
Setup
  1. Area: 22x22 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 player starts with a ball inside the marked area, ready to dribble
  3. Equipment: Cones scattered randomly throughout the area, each hiding a bib underneath, plus marker cones outlining the 22x22 yard boundary
Instructions
  1. Players dribble the ball around the area, maintaining control.
  2. Aim passes to knock over the cones and reveal the hidden treasures.
  3. Each discovered treasure earns the player one point.
  4. Players continue dribbling and knocking cones for a set time.
  5. Player with the most points at the end wins.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage active participation and enthusiasm.
  • Foster spatial awareness within the game.
  • Maintain close ball control using different foot parts.
  • Vary ball movement speed during dribbling.
  • Allow the game to teach rather than over-coaching.
  • Ensure age-appropriate and engaging practice.
  • Observe players' engagement levels and joy.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the area, increasing skill demand.
2. Set time limits to find treasures.
3. Mandate using specific foot parts for dribbling or striking.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the playing area for more space.
2. Place fewer cones with treasures.
3. Allow players to score points without knocking cones.
