Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones for marking boundaries and zones
  • Four small goals
  • Footballs
Setup
  1. Area: 30x40 yard area marked with cones, divided into a central zone and two 10-yard end zones
  2. Goals: Two small goals in each end zone, one at each end of the area (four total)
  3. Team Red: 3 red outfield players start in the central zone
  4. Team Blue: 3 blue outfield players start in the central zone
  5. Equipment: Cones marking the outer boundary and the lines dividing the two 10-yard end zones from the central zone, four small goals positioned in the end zones, one ball placed in the central zone
Instructions
  1. Players compete in a 3v3 game where they must complete a coach-decided number of passes before they can attempt to score in either of their end-zone goals. Ensure active player movement and adjust tactics based on game flow.
Coaching Points
  • Ensure clear communication among teammates
  • Maintain good angles and distances for support
  • Make early decisions on and off the ball
  • Focus on dynamic movement and a positive attitude to score
  • Execute accurate, timely, and disguised passes
  • Quickly provide support after passing
  • Adopt correct body shape for receiving and passing
  • Be aware of passing options and choose the most effective one
  • Prioritize team coordination and spatial awareness
  • Transition efficiently between defence and attack
  • Avoid forcing passes
  • Keep possession while trying to penetrate defence lines
  • Play with pace and confidence
  • Foster teamwork and collective objectives
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the required number of consecutive passes before a goal attempt.
2. Reduce the size of the playing area to increase pressure.
3. Limit the number of touches per player before passing.
Make it easier:
1. Decrease the number of consecutive passes required before attacking.
2. Increase the size of the playing area to give players more time and space.
3. Allow a free pass after winning possession to facilitate attacking transitions.
