Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Goal
  • Balls
Setup
  1. Area: Just outside the 18-yard box, no bounded area marked with cones.
  2. Goals: One full-size goal at the end of the box being attacked.
  3. Group: 3 red outfield players start just outside the 18-yard box, Player 1 centrally in possession of the ball, Player 2 positioned off to one side as the first passing option, and Player 3 positioned wide ready to make a run into the box.
  4. Group GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the goal being attacked.
Instructions
  1. Player 1 passes to Player 2, then receives the ball back immediately.
  2. Player 1 passes the ball into the path of Player 3, who makes a timed run into the box.
  3. Player 3 attempts to finish with a shot on goal.
  4. Repeat the sequence and rotate player positions regularly.
Coaching Points
  • Effective communication among players
  • Ensure good support angles and distances
  • Quality first touch to control the ball
  • Players should keep their heads up for awareness
  • Dynamic movement to facilitate passing lanes
  • Accuracy, weight, and timing of passes
  • Players should stay light on their feet
  • Prompt decision-making when selecting and executing the pass
  • Quick and crisp passes to maintain ball movement
  • Foster teamwork through correct passing and receiving techniques
  • Encourage players to consistently hit the target
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Introduce a passive defender to increase pressure on passes.
2. Reduce the space for Player 1 to operate, requiring quicker decision-making.
Make it easier:
1. Remove the goalkeeper to focus purely on the passing and shooting sequence.
2. Increase the size of the goal area to provide a larger finishing target for Player 3.
