- Cones
- Small goals

Setup
- Area: 30x40 yard area marked with cones, with a 5-yard attacking zone marked at each end
- Goals: One small goal centred on each end line
- Team Red: 4 red outfield players start spaced evenly across the central zone
- Team Red GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the red team's goal
- Team Blue: 4 blue outfield players start spaced evenly across the central zone
- Team Blue GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the blue team's goal
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 30x40 area, plus 2 additional cones marking the 5-yard attacking zone line at each end, 1 ball, bibs to differentiate the two teams
Instructions
- Teams retain possession in the middle zone, seeking opportunities for through balls.
- Players make attacking runs into the opponent's zone.
- Only one defender may enter their defensive zone to challenge the attacker.
- Goals can only be scored within the attacking zone.
- Encourage first-time finishes when possible.
Coaching Points
- Communicate effectively with teammates.
- Create good angles and distances of support.
- Use a positive, forward-looking attitude to score.
- Ensure quality passing: accurate, timed, and disguised.
- Make quick, supportive movements off the ball.
- Select the right pass and perfect the execution.
- Play and receive passes quickly with the insides of feet.
- Seek to keep possession and break defensive lines.
- Maintain high technical standards in passing and receiving.
- Promote awareness of space and decision-making on passing options.
- Work collaboratively as a unit.
- Focus on recognizing clear passing pathways.
- Observe and adjust positioning for better outcomes.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area to increase pressure.
2. Allow two defenders into the defensive zone to increase difficulty.
3. Limit the number of touches each player can take.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the middle zone to allow more space.
2. Allow unrestricted player movement into the attacking zones.
3. Play with a larger goal to facilitate scoring.
