Equipment
- Cones for marking the playing area and end zones
- Soccer balls
Setup
- Area: 30x30 yard area marked with cones, with a 3-yard end zone marked at each end
- Group: 4 players start spread out across the central playing area between the two end zones
- Equipment: Cones marking the four corners of the 30x30 yard area, plus cones marking the 3-yard end zone line at each end
Instructions
- Players aim to pass to a teammate who moves into the end zone.
- A point is scored for each pass received in the end zone.
- The receiving player must control the ball within the end zone for the point to count.
- Encourage quick support following the pass.
Coaching Points
- Communicate effectively with teammates.
- Maintain good support angles and distances.
- Make early decisions on and off the ball.
- Use a positive first touch with your head up.
- Move to create passing options.
- Prioritize forward passes when possible.
- Emphasize accurate and well-timed passes.
- Quickly support the ball carrier.
- Use your body shape to help your play.
- Ensure quality in timing and disguise of passes.
- Avoid forcing the pass; keep it moving instead.
- Make space individually to receive passes.
- Enhance team coordination and awareness.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Add a defender to the middle zone to increase pressure.
2. Reduce the size of the playing field to create tighter space.
3. Require two passes before entering the end zone.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area for more space.
2. Allow a defender in the end zone to be passive (apply shadow pressure only).
3. Permit one-touch passes to encourage faster play.
