Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Markers for the playing area
  • A ball per player
  • Additional cones for skill practice
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area (adjust size based on number of players)
  2. Group: 1 player (minimum) spaced evenly across the area, each with a ball, dribbling freely
  3. Equipment: Cones marking the corners/boundary of the 20x20 area, plus additional cones scattered randomly within the area for skill practice
Instructions
  1. Players dribble freely within the area.
  2. On the coach's signal, players perform a tight circle turn using a specified foot.
  3. Players resume dribbling in the original direction.
  4. Include additional skills such as stopping the ball, or dribbling around a cone, and returning to their original position.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage players consistently.
  • Develop awareness of available space.
  • Maintain close control of the ball.
  • Ensure the session is enjoyable.
  • Use the game as a teaching tool.
  • Instruct on different foot techniques.
  • Vary the speed of ball movement.
  • Foster understanding of spatial awareness.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area.
2. Add specific dribbling sequences or patterns.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area.
2. Allow players more time to perform each skill.
