Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones
  • Goals or Gates
  • Footballs
Setup
  1. Area: 30x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: One goal or gate centred on each end line
  3. Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts on the red side of the area, facing the blue goal
  4. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts on the blue side of the area, facing the red goal
  5. Equipment: Cones marking the four corners of the 30x20 area, a goal or gate at each end, footballs for play
Instructions
  1. Teams play under regular football rules.
  2. Once a goal is scored, the scoring team starts with a goal kick.
  3. Teams quickly switch directions aiming to score in the opposite goal.
  4. Encourage quick transitions and keep the ball moving.
Coaching Points
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Maintain good angles and distances for support.
  • Make quick, early decisions on and off the ball.
  • Ensure a strong first touch.
  • Keep your head up to observe play.
  • Move intelligently to open space.
  • Show a positive attitude towards scoring.
  • Provide quick support to teammates.
  • Maintain proper body shape for balance.
  • Pass forward when safe.
  • Keep the ball moving without forcing the pass.
  • Recognize when to shoot early and capitalize.
  • Foster teamwork and improve pass quality.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Decrease the playing area size for faster transitions.
2. Limit the time allowed to restart play and score.
3. Introduce a maximum number of touches per player.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area for more space.
2. Allow more time to restart play after scoring.
3. Remove the directional switch after a goal.
