Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • 20x20 yard practice area
  • One ball per player
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area
  2. Group: 1 red outfield player starts with right foot on top of the ball, spaced evenly within the area
  3. Equipment: One ball per player
Instructions
  1. Players pull the ball back across their body with the right foot.
  2. Push the ball outward with the inside of the left foot.
  3. Stop the ball with the sole of the left foot.
  4. Pull it back across the body and push it outward with the right foot, forming a 'V' shape.
  5. Progress to include quicker movements and additional techniques.
Coaching Points
  • Maintain close control of the ball
  • Keep head up to increase awareness
  • Encourage a positive attitude
  • Focus on correct technique
  • Increase speed as skill develops
  • Keep knees slightly bent
  • Stay light on your feet
  • Gradually increase speed and fluency
  • Master and refine each technique
  • Use quick glances instead of constantly looking down
  • Enhance touch, balance, and coordination through practice
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the speed of the exercise.
2. Integrate additional ball control moves.
3. Execute transitions on a coach's command.
Make it easier:
1. Start with a stationary ball.
2. Use only one foot to initiate the movement initially.
