Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Goal
  • Soccer balls
Setup
  1. Area: Area just outside the 18-yard box
  2. Goals: One large goal
  3. Group: 3 blue outfield players start just outside the 18-yard box in a line, one furthest from goal, one in the middle, one closest to goal
  4. Group GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line
  5. Equipment: Numerous soccer balls available at the position of the furthest player for continuous restarts
Instructions
  1. The player furthest from the goal initiates play by passing to the middle player.
  2. The middle player dummies the ball, letting it pass through to the player closest to the goal.
  3. The middle player spins around to receive the ball back.
  4. The player closest to the goal returns the ball to the spinning middle player.
  5. The middle player strikes at goal.
  6. Players rotate roles and repeat, maintaining a focus on speed and realism.
Coaching Points
  • Ensure quality first touch.
  • Execute clean turn technique.
  • Accelerate quickly after receiving the ball.
  • Use disguise to deceive opponents.
  • Maintain head up to scan space and players.
  • Show positive body language and intent.
  • Bend knees for better balance.
  • Practice space creation and effective movement.
  • Increase movement fluency through repetition.
  • Master techniques in isolation for skill development.
  • Focus on quality finishing.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the distance between players for longer passes.
2. Add a defender to apply pressure on the attacking players.
Make it easier:
1. Decrease the distance between players for easier control.
2. Allow two touches for the receiving player to control before passing.
