Equipment
  • Goal
  • Ball(s)
Setup
  1. Area: Area just outside the 18-yard box
  2. Goals: One goal with goalkeeper defending
  3. Group: 2 outfield players start just outside the 18-yard box facing each other, one facing the goal and one with their back to it
  4. Group GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line
  5. Equipment: 1 ball shared between the pair of players
Instructions
  1. Players pass the ball back and forth at high intensity.
  2. The player facing the goal calls 'turn' when passing.
  3. The receiving player turns quickly and shoots on goal.
  4. After the shot, repeat the drill with players switching roles.
  5. Maintain high speed for realism and practice efficiency.

  • Keep head up to assess options.

Variations
Make it harder:
1. Introduce a defender to pressure the shooter.
2. Reduce the time allowed to pass and shoot.
3. Increase the distance between players for longer passes.
Make it easier:
1. Allow more time for players to turn and shoot.
2. Remove the goalkeeper for less pressure.
3. Reduce the passing distance between players.
