Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones
  • Bibs
  • Balls
Setup
  1. Area: 20x15 yard area marked with cones
  2. Team Blue: 5 blue outfield players start spaced evenly across the area as attackers with the ball
  3. Team Red: 2 red outfield players start inside the area as defenders
  4. Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 20x15 yard area, bibs worn by the 2 defenders, 1 ball starting with the attackers
Instructions
  1. Attackers maintain possession, aiming to complete passes without interception.
  2. Defenders attempt to intercept or win the ball from attackers.
  3. If a defender wins the ball, swap roles with the attacker who lost it.
Coaching Points
  • Communicate effectively among the team.
  • Make quick decisions both on and off the ball.
  • Utilize good first touch to control the ball.
  • Keep your head up to scan the field.
  • Maintain fluid ball movement into open space.
  • Execute quality passes with accuracy and disguise.
  • Change angles on first touch to gain space.
  • Demonstrate proactive movement to show for the ball.
  • Position yourself in supportive triangles and diamonds.
  • Maintain awareness of passing options.
  • Use correct body shape to receive passes.
  • Promote constant communication between teammates.
  • Adapt passing priorities based on game situation.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Decrease the size of the playing area.
2. Limit the number of touches allowed per possession.
3. Add an additional defender to increase the pressure.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area.
2. Allow attackers unlimited touches.
3. Reduce defenders to one player.
