Equipment
- - Cones for marking the area
- - 4 small goals
- - Footballs
Setup
- Area: 30x30 yard area marked with cones
- Goals: One small goal on each of the four sides of the area
- Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts within their own half of the area
- Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts within their own half of the area
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners and boundary of the 30x30 yard area, 4 small goals positioned one on each side of the area
Instructions
- Teams score in any of the four goals.
- Encourage players to beat a defender before finishing.
- When the ball goes out, possession switches to the opponents.
- Apply standard football rules, prohibiting defenders from using hands to block shots.
Coaching Points
- Create effective angles of support
- Maintain close ball control
- Make smart decisions on when and where to dribble
- Execute the final action: pass, shoot, dribble, or shield
- Support teammates effectively
- Show a positive attitude towards attacking
- Promote teamwork and communication
- Dribble with technical precision
- Change direction quickly when needed
- Attackers should aim to penetrate quickly
- Focus on correct timing and distance for moves
- Protect the ball to retain possession
- Utilize both feet while dribbling
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area to increase pressure.
2. Limit the number of touches each player can take before passing.
3. Introduce a time limit for scoring once in possession.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area for more space.
2. Allow unlimited touches to reduce pressure on players.
3. Use larger goals to increase scoring opportunities.
