- Markers

Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard grid divided by markers into four equal 10x10 yard squares
- Group: 12 players split into four equal groups of 3, one group starting inside each of the four squares
- Equipment: Markers laid out to form the outer 20x20 boundary and the internal lines creating the four 10x10 squares, plus 4 balls, one given to each group to start
Instructions
- Each group passes the ball among themselves in their designated square.
- Encourage players to pass, receive, and move continuously.
- Introduce a passing sequence, if desired: Player 1 passes to Player 2, Player 2 to Player 3, etc.
- Focus on maintaining the flow and rhythm by moving the ball efficiently.
Coaching Points
- Communicate effectively to maintain possession.
- Maintain good angles and distances for support.
- Use a quality first touch to control the ball.
- Keep your head up to make informed decisions.
- Stay light on your feet for better mobility.
- Deliver accurate, timely, and occasionally disguised passes.
- Quickly adjust your body shape for optimal ball control.
- Ensure passes are grounded and not airborne.
- Employ teamwork to enhance interaction and flow.
- Observe and adapt your positioning to support passing angles.
- Play with speed and confidence, keeping the ball moving briskly.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of each square to increase ball control difficulty.
2. Introduce one or two defenders to apply pressure.
3. Limit the number of ball touches allowed per player.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the square size for more room to maneuver.
2. Allow unlimited touches for each player.
3. Remove any set passing sequence to encourage free play.
