- Balls
- Cones for marking a 20x20 yard area
Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
- Group: 1 black player starts inside the area with their own ball
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area
Instructions
- Players roll the ball from inside to outside with the sole of their foot.
- Stop the ball using the inside of the same foot.
- Begin with the ball stationary and master the move step by step.
- Increase the speed of touches once the basic move is comfortable.
- Integrate additional ball manipulation techniques as proficiency develops.
- Change techniques on command or combine two moves for added complexity.
Coaching Points
- Maintain close control of the ball.
- Keep your head up to increase awareness.
- Focus on the correct technique for each move.
- Improve the speed of movements gradually.
- Keep knees slightly bent and stay light on your feet.
- Maintain rhythm with each touch.
- Enhance fluency and speed of movement progressively.
- Master specific techniques so each move feels natural.
- Develop a sense of balance and coordination with the ball.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the speed at which players need to switch moves.
2. Reduce the size of the area to enhance control under pressure.
3. Add defender pressure as players become more proficient.
Make it easier:
1. Allow players to stop the ball completely before starting each new move.
2. Increase the size of the practice area to provide more space.
3. Use simplified techniques initially, such as basic dribbling or sole taps.
