Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • - Cones
  • - Balls
Setup
  1. Area: 25x25 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 player starts inside the area, spaced evenly among other players, each with a ball
  3. Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 25x25 yard area, 1 ball per player scattered evenly throughout the space
Instructions
  1. Players dribble their ball around the area, using feints and fakes as if cones were defenders.
  2. On the coach's command, players stop their ball and quickly move to control a different ball.
  3. Once players reach a new ball, they resume dribbling.
Coaching Points
  • Maintain close control of the ball
  • Make quick decisions on dribbling direction
  • Use body and ball feints
  • Keep head up to observe surroundings
  • Maintain a positive mindset
  • Emphasize proper dribbling technique
  • Accelerate quickly after changing direction
  • Develop confidence in dribbling skills

Variations
Make it harder:
1. Decrease the size of the playing area.
2. Introduce passive defenders for players to navigate around.
3. Increase the speed at which players must switch balls.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area.
2. Allow players to dribble at a slower controlled pace.
3. Reduce the frequency of ball-switch commands from the coach.
