Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones to mark the 20x20 area
  • Soccer balls for each player
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 3 blue outfield players lined up one behind another in a single file line, each holding a ball, with the front player positioned as the head of the line
  3. Coach: 1 grey coach positioned at the edge of the area to signal pace changes
  4. Equipment: cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area, 1 soccer ball per player
Instructions
  1. The front player controls the direction and pace of the group by dribbling.
  2. The coach signals the speed—walking, jogging, or running.
  3. The group must navigate the area, avoiding collisions with other groups.
  4. If a group touches another, they must stop moving temporarily (electrocuted).
Coaching Points
  • Encourage players continuously.
  • Emphasize space awareness in the playing area.
  • Focus on close ball control techniques.
  • Ensure the session is enjoyable and engaging.
  • Allow the game to guide learning, minimizing direct coaching intervention.
  • Ensure all players are actively participating.
  • Promote the use of different foot parts for ball control.
  • Teach movement of the ball at variable speeds.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Decrease the playing area size to limit space.
2. Add more 'eels' to increase congestion.
3. Introduce specific obstacles players must avoid.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area.
2. Allow the leading player to give verbal directions to followers.
3. Reduce the number of groups to decrease congestion.
