Equipment
- 4 goals
- Cones (for marking area)
- Balls (for passing and shooting)
Setup
- Area: 35x30 yard rectangle marked with cones
- Goals: One small goal centred on each end line
- Group: 4 players split into two pairs, each pair positioned opposite each other across the width of the area near one end, one pair per goal, each starting with one ball and assigned passer/shooter roles
- Equipment: Cones marking the four corners of the 35x30 rectangle, 2 goals (one on each end line), 1 ball per group of four
Instructions
- The player with the ball passes to the player directly opposite.
- The receiving player controls the ball, turns, and shoots at the nearby goal.
- After shooting, players switch roles.
- The second pair then performs the same sequence.
- Continue the cycle, focusing on smooth transitions and quick role changes.
Coaching Points
- Focus on precise ball striking.
- Take a controlled touch before turning.
- Position body to face the goal before shooting.
- Ensure clear communication between players.
- Maintain pace and accuracy in passing.
- Encourage quick decisions and fluid movement.
- Stay balanced during the shot for control.
- Provide positive feedback to boost confidence.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the playing area for quicker execution.
2. Introduce a defender to apply pressure before shots.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the playing area for more space.
2. Allow extra touches before shooting.
