Instructions
- Play starts with a 3v3 in the midfield.
- Teams aim to score by passing to the attacker in the box before a goal can be attempted on the large goal.
- The attacker in the box is restricted to playing within the box area.
- If the defender gains possession, they may counter-attack using the small goals.
- Rotate attacking and defending teams after each goal.
Coaching Points
- Encourage creating triangle shapes in possession to enhance passing options.
- Focus on movement off the ball to support the player with possession.
- Highlight the importance of forwards holding up the ball and protecting it until support arrives.
- Foster competitive mindset in one-on-one situations.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the space in the midfield area to increase pressure on players.
2. Limit the number of touches allowed for each player.
3. Introduce a countdown timer for scoring a goal once the ball enters the attacker's box.
4. Add an extra defender to increase defensive challenge.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the midfield playing area to give attackers more space.
2. Allow the attacker in the box to leave the box to support play.
3. Remove one defender to give attackers a numerical advantage.
4. Permit backward passes to the goalkeeper to reset play.
