Equipment
- Balls
- Small goal or posts
- 4 markers
- 6 cones
Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard area with a 5x5 yard square marked with cones in the centre
- Goals: One small goal (made of 2 marker posts) centred on one edge of the 20x20 area, with 2 additional markers placed inside the posts as a narrower target
- Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player (attacker) starts on one side of the central square, in possession of the ball
- Team Red: 1 red outfield player (defender) starts facing the attacker on the opposite side of the central square
- Equipment: Balls, small goal formed by 4 markers (2 posts plus 2 inside markers), 4 cones marking the corners of the 5x5-yard central square, and 2 additional cones placed one on each side of the square for the defender to touch before defending
Instructions
- Players pass the ball to each other within the square.
- After five passes, the defender touches a cone on their side before attempting to defend.
- The attacker with the ball runs into space and aims to score between the posts and markers.
- Swap roles and repeat the drill.

- Maintain close ball control.
- Decide when and where to dribble effectively.
- Use disguise and deception.
- Keep your head up to observe the field.
- Shift the ball into open spaces quickly.
- Cultivate a positive attacking mindset.
- Utilize quick footwork.

Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the playing area to increase pressure.
2. Add a second defender after a set number of passes.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the playing area for more space.
2. Allow the defender more time before they must touch the cone.
