Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones
  • Balls
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 red outfield player lined up on one side of the area, each with a ball
  3. Coach: 1 grey coach with a ball positioned in the center of the area
  4. Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area, balls for each player and the coach
Instructions
  1. Players dribble their balls across the area one group at a time.
  2. The coach tries to hit the players' balls out while dribbling.
  3. Players whose balls are hit join the coach in the center.
  4. Continue until only one player remains.

  • Encourage players throughout the drill.
  • Focus on spatial awareness.
  • Maintain close ball control.
  • Create an engaging and fun environment.
  • Encourage use of different foot parts.
  • Adapt drill relevance based on player age.
  • Prioritize player involvement.
  • Allow the game to teach skills organically.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the playing area size.
2. Allow the coach to move faster.
3. Add a second coach as a lion.
Make it easier:
1. Increase playing area size.
2. Use a softer or lighter ball for the coach.
3. Allow players to shield their ball for a few seconds when targeted.
