Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones to mark the 30x30 yard square.
  • Four small goals.
  • Footballs.
Setup
  1. Area: 30x30 yard square marked with cones
  2. Goals: Four small goals, one on each side of the square facing outward
  3. Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts lined up outside the square, ready to enter when called
  4. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts lined up outside the square opposite Team Red, ready to enter when called
  5. Coach: 1 grey coach positioned outside the square with balls, ready to pass into the area and call numbers
  6. Equipment: Cones marking the corners and sides of the 30x30 yard square, four small goals placed one on each side facing outward, footballs for the coach to pass in
Instructions
  1. Coach passes a ball into the square and calls a number.
  2. Corresponding players sprint into the area to gain possession.
  3. Players must utilize teamwork to create scoring opportunities.
  4. Attempt to score by shooting into any of the four goals.
  5. Encourage quick interplay and inventive passing to outmaneuver opponents.
Coaching Points
  • Communicate effectively with teammates.
  • Create and exploit space to receive passes.
  • Maintain optimal support angles and distances.
  • Make quick and decisive decisions on and off the ball.
  • Utilize quality passing techniques, including accuracy and timing.
  • Maintain proper body shape for receiving and passing.
  • Focus on quick ball movement and fluid gameplay.
  • Be constantly aware of available passing options.
  • Recognize positions where players can effectively receive passes.
  • Emphasize quick finishes on goal.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area to increase pressure.
2. Limit the time to score by using a countdown for quicker play.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the playing area to allow more space and time on the ball.
2. Allow unrestricted entry into the area for more open play.
3. Use larger goals to simplify scoring.
