Equipment
- Cones for play area boundaries and inside markers
- One ball for each player
Setup
- Area: 25x25 yard area marked with cones
- Group: 1 player starts inside the area with a ball
- Equipment: Cones marking the 25x25 yard boundary, plus several additional cones scattered randomly inside the area approximately 5 yards apart as turning markers, one ball per player
Instructions
- Players dribble towards any cone.
- Upon reaching a cone, perform a 360-degree turn around it using close ball control.
- Accelerate away from the cone, maintaining head up.
- Use both feet to dribble and control the turn.
- Repeat with different cones, varying speed and direction.
Coaching Points
- Maintain close control of the ball.
- Keep head up to scan surroundings.
- Use both feet for dribbling and turning.
- Accelerate sharply after each turn.
- Bend knees for better agility.
- Display a positive, confident attitude.
- Encourage player creativity and decision making.
- Develop fluency through practice.
- Integrate turns to shield ball from imaginary defenders.
- Focus on mastering dribbling techniques.
- Adapt speed based on skill proficiency.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Decrease cone distance for tighter turns.
2. Introduce passive defenders around cones.
Make it easier:
1. Increase cone distance for easier maneuvering.
2. Allow extra time for turns.
