Equipment
- Cones to mark the playing area
- Balls for each player
Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
- Group: 1 player starts on the start line at one end of the area, each with a ball
- Neutral: 1 black player designated as Mr Wolf, positioned on the opposite end line facing away from the group
- Equipment: cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area, 1 ball per player
Instructions
- Players shout, “What’s the time, Mr Wolf?”
- 'Mr Wolf' turns and calls out a number.
- Players dribble forward using the number of touches called.
- On 'Dinner Time' call, players turn and dribble back to the start without being tagged by 'Mr Wolf'.
Coaching Points
- Encourage constant player engagement.
- Foster an enjoyable and age-appropriate environment.
- Highlight ball control using various foot parts.
- Develop spatial awareness and movement.
- Let the game guide learning while maintaining flow.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the number of touches allowed.
2. Increase the playing area to cover more space.
Make it easier:
1. Allow more touches per number call.
2. Decrease the playing area to simplify movement.
