Equipment
- Cones for boundary and end zones
- Several balls for quick restarts
Setup
- Area: 30x25 yard area marked with cones, including two end zones.
- Team Red: 4 red outfield players start spaced evenly inside the main area.
- Team Blue: 4 blue outfield players start spaced evenly inside the main area.
- Neutral: 2 black target players, one positioned on each sideline outside the main area.
- Equipment: cones marking the boundary and two end zones, several balls distributed around the sidelines for quick restarts.
Instructions
- Players aim to pass to a target player on the sideline to score a point.
- A consecutive pass to the same target player within the same possession retains control but does not score.
- Encourage swift ball movement and the use of target players to switch play.
- Rotate neutral players regularly to keep engagement.
Coaching Points
- Communicate effectively with teammates.
- Maintain good angles and distances for support.
- Use a clean, controlled first touch to set up the next play.
- Keep your head up to read the game.
- Deliver accurate, well-timed passes with disguise.
- Choose the appropriate pass technique for the situation.
- Demonstrate good movement to create passing lanes.
- Play with speed and confidence.
- Ensure supporting players provide options.
- Defenders should counterattack when possible.
- Aim for a prompt finish when in a scoring position.
- Utilize neutral players to change the point of attack.
- Open the body to increase passing angles and unpredictability.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Limit the number of touches per player.
2. Increase the playing area's size.
3. Add a mandatory two-pass rule before scoring.
4. Reduce the number of neutral target players.
Make it easier:
1. Allow neutral players to move along the sidelines to offer better angles.
2. Increase the number of neutral players available.
3. Reduce the opposing team's number of defenders.
