Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Balls
  • Cones/Markers
Setup
  1. Area: 30x30 yard area marked with cones
  2. Team Red: 5 red outfield players, 3 positioned inside the area for the 3v3 game and 2 positioned outside the area on opposite sides as wall-pass targets
  3. Team Blue: 5 blue outfield players, 3 positioned inside the area for the 3v3 game and 2 positioned outside the area on opposite sides as wall-pass targets
  4. Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 30x30 yard playing area, balls for play
Instructions
  1. Teams attempt to score by executing a wall pass with one of their outside players.
  2. After scoring, players change direction and aim for an opposite outside player.
  3. Outside players cannot directly pass to each other.
  4. Play in timed intervals with each period aiming to beat the previous score.
  5. Rotate outside players regularly to ensure balanced participation.
Coaching Points
  • Ensure quick ball movement and quality passing.
  • Encourage end product through effective wall passes.
  • Tailor training intensity to age and fitness levels.
  • Plan progressive overload with careful attention to player recovery.
  • Monitor the aerobic overload to push beyond players' comfort zones.
  • Avoid excessive training and ensure adequate recovery periods.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area.
2. Decrease time intervals for each round.
3. Limit touches for inside players.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area.
2. Allow more touches for each player inside the area.
3. Increase rest periods between rounds.
