Equipment
  • Cones/Markers for pitch boundary
  • Goals or Gates
  • Football
Setup
  1. Area: 30x20 yard pitch marked with cones/markers
  2. Goals: One goal or gate centred on each end line
  3. Team Red: 1 red outfield player starting in their own half
  4. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starting in their own half
  5. Equipment: Cones/markers marking the four corners of the pitch, one goal or gate on each end line, 1 football placed centrally on the halfway line
Instructions
  1. Players must follow standard football rules.
  2. For a goal to count, every team member must touch the ball in the build-up.
  3. Players are required to make at least one touch while maintaining possession.
  4. Opposing players cannot intercept the ball before a goal attempt.
Coaching Points
  • Emphasize communication throughout the team.
  • Maintain good angles and distances for effective support.
  • Focus on making quick and early decisions on and off the ball.
  • Encourage a strong first touch and keeping the head up.
  • Instill a positive attitude towards scoring.
  • Ensure players support quickly after passing.
  • Utilize proper body shape for control and passing.
  • Promote forward passes and avoiding forced ones.
  • Keep the ball actively moving.
  • Ensure crisp, flat passes to maintain tempo.
  • Encourage movement and space creation after passing.
  • Prioritize effective passing choices to maximize play.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the number of allowed touches before a goal.
2. Increase the size of the playing area.
3. Introduce a time limit for possession before a shot.
Make it easier:
1. Allow multiple touches per player.
2. Reduce the size of the playing area.
3. Permit one player not to touch the ball before a goal.
