Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Balls for each player except one
  • Cones to outline the area
Setup
  1. Area: 30x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 player starts inside the area with a ball, positioned anywhere within the area
  3. Neutral: 1 black tagger starts inside the area without a ball
  4. Equipment: Cones marking the four corners of the 30x20 yard area, balls for each player except the tagger
Instructions
  1. Players dribble and bounce their ball within the area, avoiding the tagger.
  2. The tagger aims to knock the ball away from dribblers.
  3. If a player loses control or their ball is knocked away, they become the new tagger.
Coaching Points

  • Encourage effective communication on the pitch.
  • Gradually increase intensity to prepare physically and mentally.
  • Monitor players' first touch and general movement.
  • Make the warm-up fun and relevant to the main session.
  • Players should focus on fluency in movement and ball reception.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area to increase pressure.
2. Add a second tagger to increase challenge.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area to reduce pressure.
2. Allow a safety zone where players can temporarily pause.
