Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • 8 cones
  • Stopwatch
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 2 players spread out and jogging lightly within the area, one of them designated as the starting tagger
  3. Equipment: 8 cones marking the corners and edges of the 20x20 yard area, 1 stopwatch used to time the drill
Instructions
  1. On your signal, the tagger tries to tag another player.
  2. If tagged, the next player becomes the new tagger.
  3. Change to version where tagged players join the tagging team, increasing pressure on others.
  4. Continue until a pre-set time period or until all players are tagged.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage constant movement and quick decision making.
  • Emphasize awareness of surroundings and space.
  • Highlight the importance of avoiding getting tagged.
  • Foster an engaging and enjoyable environment.
  • Let the game be the teacher, allowing players to learn organically.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area.
2. Add more taggers from the start.
3. Introduce a rule where players must dribble a ball while dodging the tagger.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area.
2. Begin with more players designated as 'taggers'.
