Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Marking cones
  • Soccer balls
Setup
  1. Area: 30x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts inside the playing area with a ball, spaced on their team's side
  3. Team Red GK: 1 yellow doctor positioned in the red team's 2x2 yard surgery zone in one corner of the area
  4. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts inside the playing area with a ball, spaced on their team's side
  5. Team Blue GK: 1 yellow doctor positioned in the blue team's 2x2 yard surgery zone in the opposite corner of the area
  6. Equipment: cones marking the 30x20 yard boundary, 3 cones in each of two opposite corners forming a 2x2 yard surgery area per team, and 1 soccer ball per outfield player
Instructions
  1. Players dribble within the area, protecting their ball while attempting to kick opponents' balls out.
  2. If a player's ball exits the area, they must take it to their team's 'surgery' and wait.
  3. The 'doctor' can visit the 'surgery' to tag and release teammates.
  4. The game can be won by hitting the opposing doctor below the knees with the ball.
Coaching Points
  • Maintain close control using both feet
  • Keep the head up for better awareness
  • Decide swiftly when and where to dribble
  • Communicate with teammates
  • Protect the ball under pressure
  • Use body positioning to shield the ball
  • Quick changes of direction
  • Cultivate a positive mindset
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the size of the area for more space to cover.
2. Limit the number of touches each player can take.
3. Introduce a time limit for players in the 'surgery'.
Make it easier:
1. Decrease the size of the area for less ground to cover.
2. Allow the 'doctor' to stay outside the 'surgery' to assist more actively.
3. Let players re-enter the game after a set time without a tag.
