Equipment
  • Mini goals
  • Ball
Setup
  1. Area: Slightly over half a pitch, from the defending team's goal line to just beyond the halfway line
  2. Goals: Two mini goals positioned side by side behind the halfway line
  3. Team Red: 2 red outfield players (forwards) start near the halfway line as opponents, added gradually
  4. Team Blue: 8 blue outfield players start in a 4-3-1 formation across their own half
  5. Team Blue GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the blue team's goal
  6. Coach: 1 grey coach with the ball positioned at the edge of the defensive third to start each play
  7. Equipment: 2 mini goals placed behind the halfway line, 1 ball with the coach
Instructions
  1. Coach initiates play by passing to the goalkeeper.
  2. Goalkeeper distributes the ball using either hands or feet.
  3. Players work together to advance the ball up the pitch.
  4. Attempt to score in either mini goal.
  5. Repeat with new ball from coach.
Coaching Points
  • Communicate effectively on and off the ball.
  • Create space and look for opportunities to receive.
  • Use good angles and maintain optimal support distances.
  • Ensure quality first touch prepares next move.
  • Execute accurate, well-timed, and disguised passes.
  • Transition quickly from defence to attack and vice versa.
  • Pass and move consistently to create space.
  • Recognize when to pass to feet and when to space.
  • Maintain an appropriate body shape to receive and pass.
  • Encourage rapid support and movement (diagonal or overlapping).
  • Aim to play forward whenever possible.
  • Develop awareness and decision-making for effective passing.
  • Foster team cohesion with a clear objective.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Add a time limit to score.
2. Restrict the number of passes allowed before scoring.
3. Introduce more opposing players gradually.
Make it easier:
1. Remove opposing players completely.
2. Allow unlimited passes.
3. Provide more time for decision-making.
