Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones for marking the boundary
  • One ball per player
Setup
  1. Area: 25x25 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 player starts with a ball at their feet, spaced evenly inside the area
  3. Equipment: Cones marking the corners/boundary of the 25x25 yard area, 1 ball per player
Instructions
  1. Players dribble their balls around the area.
  2. On the coach's call, players connect the called body parts (e.g., hands on head) while keeping control of the ball.
  3. Incorporate various combinations like elbow to nose or hands on bottom.
  4. Encourage players to resume dribbling quickly after each call.
Coaching Points
  • Ensure regular hydration.
  • Maintain open communication between players and coach.
  • Gradually increase the activity's intensity.
  • Monitor players' movement, touch, and focus.
  • Start the drill slowly and progressively.
  • Use warm-up as preparation for more intense sessions.
  • Ensure exercises are enjoyable and related to game situations.
  • Highlight the benefits of a proper warm-up for performance.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the area to increase dribbling difficulty.
2. Increase speed of movement between body part calls.
Make it easier:
1. Enlarge the area to reduce congestion.
2. Decrease frequency of body part calls.
