Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Full-sized goals
  • Cones or markers for the 60x40 area and 10-yard corridors
  • Soccer balls
Setup
  1. Area: 60x40 yard area marked with cones, divided by two 10-yard wide corridors running along each sideline
  2. Goals: One full-sized goal centred on each of the two end lines
  3. Team Red: 7 red outfield players, 5 positioned centrally within the area and 2 positioned as wingers (one in each 10-yard sideline corridor)
  4. Team Red GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the red team's goal
  5. Team Blue: 7 blue outfield players, 5 positioned centrally within the area and 2 positioned as wingers (one in each 10-yard sideline corridor)
  6. Team Blue GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of the blue team's goal
  7. Equipment: Cones marking the four corners of the 60x40 area, plus cones marking the two 10-yard-wide corridors along each sideline
Instructions
  1. Goalkeeper initiates play by passing to a central teammate.
  2. Ball must move through one wide player before any goal attempt.
  3. Initially restrict opposition wingers from challenging; introduce opposition later for progression.
  4. Emphasize combination play and quick transition between attack and counter-attack.

1. Allow opposing wingers to challenge earlier in the drill.

2. Permit players additional touches in the wide areas.
