Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
- Cones for boundaries
- Balls for each player
Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard grid marked with cones
- Group: 1 player starts inside the grid with a ball
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners/boundaries of the 20x20 yard grid, 1 ball per player
Instructions
- Players perform a scissor step by stepping over the ball from inside to outside using alternate feet.
- Create a double action before controlling the ball with the outside of the first foot.
- Follow skill acquisition stages: develop with a stationary ball, increase speed, combine moves, use in game-like situations, and apply with the less dominant foot.
Coaching Points
- Accelerate quickly after the move.
- Maintain close ball control.
- Use disguise to deceive opponents.
- Keep your head up.
- Ensure a positive attitude.
- Perfect the step-over technique.
- Execute moves rapidly.

- Bend knees slightly for balance.
- Increase move fluency and speed gradually.

Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the space to 15x15 yards to increase difficulty.
2. Combine with a third move before acceleration.
3. Integrate an opponent for passive defense.
Make it easier:
1. Perform the move without moving, concentrating on technique.
2. Use larger space to allow more room for errors.
3. Simplify by focusing on a single scissor step.
