Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones for outlining the 15x15 grid
  • Four small goals positioned centrally on each side
  • Multiple balls for continuous play
Setup
  1. Area: 16x16 yard grid marked with cones
  2. Goals: Four small goals, one centred on each side of the grid
  3. Team Red: 3 red outfield players (defenders) start inside the grid, spaced to cover the middle area
  4. Team Blue: 2 blue outfield players (attackers) start inside the grid, positioned centrally to receive the first pass
  5. Coach: 1 grey coach positioned on the side of the grid with a supply of balls, ready to feed the first pass to an attacker
  6. Equipment: Cones marking the corners and sides of the 16x16 yard grid, four small goals positioned centrally on each of the four sides
Instructions
  1. Coach initiates play by passing to one of the attackers.
  2. Attackers use movement and passing to combine and target any of the four goals.
  3. Defenders aim to intercept and regain possession.
  4. After a goal or a defensive regain, reset positions and restart with a new pass from the coach.
  5. Rotate roles regularly to provide equal learning opportunities.
Coaching Points
  • Maintain open communication with teammates.

  • Pass with accuracy, timing, and disguise.
  • Select the appropriate passing technique for the situation.
  • Be proactive with movement to create space.

  • Attack with speed, ensuring control of the ball.
  • Stay aware of multiple passing options to create threats.

Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the playing area to 10x10 meters.
2. Add one more defender to create a 2v4 overload.
3. Restrict attackers to a maximum of three passes before scoring.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the playing area to 20x20 meters.
2. Remove one defender for a more balanced 2v2 scenario.
3. Allow the attackers unlimited touches to encourage better control.
