Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • 10x20 yard marked playing area
  • One football per goalkeeper
Setup
  1. Area: 10x20 yard area
  2. Group: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned randomly within the area, each with a football
  3. Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 10x20 yard area
Instructions
  1. Goalkeepers perform various ball manipulation exercises.
  2. Toss the ball hand to hand, use fists to juggle, or roll and scoop the ball.
  3. Encourage creative and varied handling drills.
Coaching Points
  • Emphasize correct ball handling technique
  • Keep feet light to move into position quickly
  • Focus on maintaining organization and concentration
  • Ensure the exercises are progressive and purposeful
  • Encourage enjoying the drills while learning basic and advanced skills
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the space, increasing handling speed.
2. Introduce more complex juggling patterns.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the space for easier movement.
2. Focus on basic handling without complex techniques.
