Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Soccer balls (one per player)
  • Cones for boundary markers
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 red outfield player starts inside the area with a ball at their feet (repeat for however many players participate, each spaced evenly across the area with their own ball)
  3. Equipment: Soccer balls, one per player, spread throughout the area; cones marking the four corners and boundary of the 20x20 area
Instructions
  1. Players dribble their balls within the area using both feet.
  2. On the coach's command, players halt the ball with their foot, leap over it, and run to another ball.
  3. Continue the activity with repeated commands.
Coaching Points
  • Maintain close ball control with both feet.
  • Awareness of space and other players.
  • Engagement and enjoyment are key.
  • Adapt the session to be age-appropriate.
  • Let the game facilitate learning naturally.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area.
2. Increase the frequency of commands.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area.
2. Allow more time between commands.
