Equipment
- Balls (one per pair)
Setup
- Area: Open space with pairs spaced 5-10 yards apart, enough room between pairs to move freely
- Group: 2 red players per pair, positioned 5-10 yards apart facing each other
- Equipment: 1 ball per pair
Instructions
- Player 1 passes the ball to Player 2 using the inside of the foot.
- Player 2 receives the ball with the inside of their foot, cushioning the ball and pushing it to the outside of their body.
- Player 2 then passes the ball back to Player 1 using the same foot they used to control the ball.
- Continue this sequence, focusing on maintaining quality passes and touches.
- Switch roles regularly to ensure both players practice receiving and passing.
Coaching Points
- Keep relaxed while receiving the ball.
- Use inside foot technique to cushion the ball.
- Communicate effectively with your partner.
- Keep the ball moving and use quick footwork.
- Position yourself in line with the ball's trajectory.
- Control the ball using the appropriate surface.
- Ensure passes are of high quality with proper weight.
- Work as a team, focusing on technical execution.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Decrease the distance between players to increase the speed of play.
2. Limit the number of touches a player can use before returning the ball.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the distance to allow more reaction time.
2. Allow players multiple touches to control the ball before passing.
