Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones to mark the playing area
  • One ball for each team
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Team Red: 4 red outfield players start spaced evenly inside the area, numbered 1 to 4
  3. Team Blue: 4 blue outfield players start spaced evenly inside the area, numbered 1 to 4
  4. Equipment: Cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area, one ball for the red team and one ball for the blue team
Instructions
  1. Players pass the ball in sequence according to their number.
  2. Encourage calling out their numbers confidently before receiving the pass.
  3. Focus on passing accuracy and player movement.
  4. Change player numbers periodically to disrupt routine sequences.
Coaching Points
  • Communicate effectively with teammates
  • Position at good angles and distances for support
  • Use a quality first touch
  • Keep head up to scan for passing options
  • Stay light on your feet
  • Ensure pass accuracy, timing, and disguise
  • Choose the correct passing technique
  • Maintain smooth and coordinated team play
  • Understand spatial awareness in the grid
  • Move effectively to show for the ball
  • Control the ball to gain advantage
  • Decide quickly on pass type and execution
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area.
2. Increase the passing sequence, e.g., 1-4-2-3.
3. Introduce a neutral player for both teams to use.
Make it easier:
1. Expand the playing area.
2. Allow players to pass to non-sequential numbers temporarily.
3. Increase pause time between passes to allow better setup.
