Equipment
- Balls, one per player
- Cones for marking a 20x20 yard area
Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
- Group: 2 black players (minimum), each with a ball, spread out evenly within the area
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners/edges of the 20x20 yard area
Instructions
- Players begin dribbling freely in the space using both feet.
- When the coach calls two body parts (e.g., heads and toes), players must stop, touch those body parts together, and stay balanced.
- After completing the task, players resume dribbling at the coach's signal, maintaining good control.
- Repeat with different combinations of body parts.
Coaching Points
- Encourage continuous engagement and participation.
- Maintain control of the ball using both feet.
- Focus on spatial awareness within the playing area.
- Keep the session enjoyable and age appropriate.
- Allow the activity to naturally coach players through experience.
- Recognize and praise creativity and quick reactions.
- Reinforce close control and dribbling with varying speed.
- Prioritize ensuring every player is involved and active.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area for increased difficulty.
2. Add more complex body part combinations.
3. Introduce time limits for each combination task.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area for more space.
2. Use simple and fewer body part combinations.
3. Allow brief pauses for players to stabilize after each task.
