Equipment
- Mini goals
- Footballs
- Cones for marking the area and ball zone
Setup
- Area: 30x30 yard area marked with cones.
- Goals: One mini goal centred on each end line of the area.
- Team Red: 3 red outfield players, with two starting at the central ball zone to attack Blue's goal and one starting as the defender in front of Red's own goal.
- Team Red GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of Red's goal.
- Team Blue: 3 blue outfield players, with two starting at the central ball zone to attack Red's goal and one starting as the defender in front of Blue's own goal.
- Team Blue GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line of Blue's goal.
- Equipment: Cones marking the 30x30 yard boundary and a 2-yard central ball zone, with 14 footballs (7 per team) stacked in that central zone, plus the two mini goals at each end.
Instructions
- Each team attacks with two players against one defender and a goalkeeper.
- The attacking team retrieves a ball from the ball zone to start each play.
- Play continues until the ball is dead (goal, save, or out of play).
- Rotate the next ball from the central zone after each dead ball.
- The team that scores the most goals wins the drill.

- Use concise and clear on-field communication.
- In 1v1s, stay large and composed.
- Make quick, decisive actions.
- Show a positive and alert mindset.
- Effectively judge angles and approach.
- Manage footwork efficiently.

- Focus on timing and collection of balls.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Add a second defender to increase defensive pressure.
2. Reduce the size of the playing area to limit space.
3. Introduce a time limit for each attacking play.
Make it easier:
1. Remove the goalkeeper to focus on beating the defender.
2. Increase the playing area to provide more space.
3. Allow multiple balls to be active to decrease decision-making speed.
