Setup
- Area: Half a pitch marked with cones
- Goals: One goal centred on each end line
- Team Red: 4 red outfield players start spaced evenly across their own half
- Team Red GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line at the red team's end
- Team Blue: 4 blue outfield players start spaced evenly across their own half
- Team Blue GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line at the blue team's end
- Neutral: 3 black neutral players spaced evenly across the playing area to support the team in possession
- Equipment: Cones marking the boundary of the half-pitch area, 2 goals positioned on each end line
Instructions
- Play begins with the goalkeeper at one designated end after any attack.
- The team in possession must pass to at least one neutral player before attempting to score.
- Neutral players move to support play, offering passing lanes and facilitating quick combinations.
- Ensure fluid transitions between possession, defense, and attack.
Coaching Points
- Utilize proper cushioning techniques when receiving.
- Decide the controlling surface early.
- Keep your head up to scan for options.
- Maintain ball movement and fluidity.
- Align body and ball path efficiently.
- Shift the ball off straight lines for unpredictability.
- Face forward when receiving, if possible.
- Make smart, opening runs for fast combos.
- Adjust support angles and distances.
- Stay aware of all passing options.
- Focus on ball protection while dribbling.
- Create space proactively and communicate clearly.
- Analyze and choose suitable passing options.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the playing area for increased pressure.
2. Increase the number of mandatory passes before a goal attempt.
3. Limit touches for each player to two or fewer.
Make it easier:
1. Expand the playing area for more space.
2. Allow unlimited neutral player interventions.
3. Remove the touch limit to encourage control.
