Equipment
- Balls
- Cones for marking pitch boundaries and scoring lines
Setup
- Area: 30x20 yard area marked with cones
- Goals: No goals; scoring lines on each end line of the area
- Team Red: 4 red outfield players start lined up on their own end line
- Team Blue: 4 blue outfield players start lined up on the opposite end line
- Equipment: Cones marking the four corners of the 30x20 area and cones marking the scoring line at each end, 1 ball for starting play
Instructions
- Start by passing the ball to the attacking team.
- Attackers aim to dribble or pass the ball over the defender's end line.
- Defenders attempt to regain possession and switch roles to attack.
- If possession is won, the new attacking team tries to score by crossing the opposite line.
- Rotate roles after each scoring attempt.
- Include offside rules to encourage disciplined positioning.
Coaching Points
- Communicate constantly to maintain organization.
- Be mindful of positioning relative to the ball and teammates.
- Close down space and provide defensive support as a unit.
- Monitor opponents' movements to predict their plays.
- Adhere to offside rules to prevent easy scoring opportunities.
- Transition quickly to attack upon gaining possession.
- Encourage covering for teammates and providing defensive help.
- Emphasize team shape and cohesion over individual actions.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the pitch size to 40 x 30 yards.
2. Limit the number of allowed touches per player.
3. Add a neutral player to create outnumbered defensive situations.
Make it easier:
1. Reduce the pitch size to 25 x 15 yards.
2. Allow unlimited touches for attackers.
3. Introduce zones for defenders to focus on specific areas.
