Equipment
- - Cones (for 20x20 yard area)
- - Mini goals
- - Balls
Setup
- Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
- Goals: One mini goal on each of three sides of the area
- Team Red: 2 red outfield players start on one side of the area, facing the goal on the opposite side
- Team Blue: 2 blue outfield players start on the second side of the area, facing the goal on the opposite side
- Neutral: 2 black players (third rotating team) start on the third side of the area, facing the goal on the opposite side
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners and edges of the 20x20 yard area, one mini goal set on each of three sides, balls for play
Instructions
- The Red team attacks the White team's goal.
- After the attack, two White players transition to attack Red, who then defend their goal.
- Once a goal is scored or the ball is won, two Blue players attack the White team from the other end.
- If defenders win the ball, they attack the goal at the opposite end immediately.
- Rotate roles continuously between attacking, defending, and resting.
Coaching Points
- Maintain close control of the ball.
- Use effective communication to coordinate attacks and defenses.
- Make smart decisions on when and where to dribble.
- Focus on having a good first touch and supporting teammates.
- Adopt a positive, attacking attitude.
- Assess angles and distances for optimal support.
- Balance dribbling, passing, and shielding.
- Aim for quality finishes on goal.
- Encourage creative play and quick penetration.
- Observe the game from outside the area for better perspective.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the size of the playing area to 25x25 yards.
2. Limit the time attackers have to score once they gain possession.
3. Add a neutral player to create 2v3 situations.
Make it easier:
1. Decrease the playing area to 15x15 yards to reduce defensive space.
2. Allow defenders to start with a positional advantage.
3. Operate with one less attacker in each phase.
