- Cones

Setup
- Area: 40x30 yard area marked with cones, with two 3-yard wide lanes marked along the longer sides.
- Goals: One small goal centred on each end line.
- Team Red: 4 red outfield players start in the central area for a 4v4 game.
- Team Blue: 4 blue outfield players start in the central area for a 4v4 game.
- Neutral: 2 black neutral wingers wearing distinctive bibs, one positioned in each 3-yard side lane.
- Equipment: Cones marking the corners and lane markings of the 40x30 yard area, a small goal at each end, and footballs distributed around the pitch.
Instructions
- Start play with a team in possession in the center.
- Teams aim to pass to the neutral winger in the side lanes.
- A team must use a neutral player in their build-up for a goal to count.
- Encourage players to utilize limited touches.
- Rotate neutral wingers frequently to involve all players.
Coaching Points
- Communicate effectively to maintain fluid play.
- Create space to receive passes using intelligent movement.
- Ensure good angles and distances for support.
- Make quick, effective decisions on and off the ball.
- Focus on the quality, timing, and disguise of passes.
- Provide immediate support following a pass.
- Aim to pass forward whenever possible.
- Maintain ball movement to disrupt the opposition.
- Incorporate minimal touches during combination play.
- Utilize team width and depth principles.
- Penetrate defense with quick ball movement.
- Use neutral players to shift the attack efficiently.
- Develop spatial awareness and understanding.
- Recognize and select the most effective passing options.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area to increase pressure.
2. Limit the number of touches for field players even more.
3. Allow defenders to enter the side lanes to challenge neutral players.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the width of the side lanes for easier passes.
2. Remove the requirement to use a neutral player before scoring.
3. Allow more touches on the ball for better control.
