Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  • One ball per player
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 player starts with the ball positioned between their feet, spaced evenly across the area
  3. Equipment: 4 cones marking the corners of the 20x20 yard area, one ball per player
Instructions
  1. Players tap the ball between their feet three times.
  2. On the third tap, perform a step-over.
  3. Use the outside of the foot to push the ball.
  4. Practice the sequence in stages, progressing speed and incorporating additional ball skills.
Coaching Points
  • Maintain close ball control
  • Keep head up when possible
  • Show positive attitude
  • Execute moves with proper technique
  • Increase speed gradually
  • Bend knees slightly
  • Stay light on feet
  • Maintain rhythm throughout
  • Focus on fluency and speed of moves
  • Master specific techniques of each feint
  • Stay aware of surroundings by checking around
  • Enhance touch, balance, coordination, and ball control
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase speed of execution.
2. Incorporate random changes in direction.
3. Add a defender for pressure.
Make it easier:
1. Decrease the skill execution speed.
2. Allow stationary ball practice initially.
3. Remove the step-over component.
