Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Soccer balls
  • Cones
  • Markers for 35x25 yard playing area
Setup
  1. Area: 35x25 yard area marked with cones
  2. Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts spaced evenly inside the 35x25 area
  3. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts spaced evenly inside the 35x25 area
  4. Neutral: 1 black wall player positioned on the sideline of the area, available to receive and return passes
  5. Equipment: 4 cones marking the corners of the area, each with a soccer ball balanced on top, plus markers defining the 35x25 yard boundary
Instructions
  1. The two teams compete to knock the balls off the cones.
  2. Wall players assist the team in possession by passing the ball back when needed.
  3. If the ball goes out of play, the opposing team resumes by passing in from the sidelines.
  4. Normal football rules apply.
  5. Switch roles after all balls are knocked off.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage consistent communication between players.
  • Focus on creating space to receive passes.
  • Maintain good angles and distances for support.
  • Emphasize quick decision-making both on and off the ball.
  • Keep your head up to be aware of surroundings.
  • Promote dynamic movement to open up passing lanes.
  • Ensure quality of pass in terms of accuracy, timing, and disguise.
  • Keep the ball constantly moving to unsettle opposition.
  • Attack at speed, keeping the ball under control.
  • Use body shape effectively to shield the ball and for better control.
  • Understand spatial awareness individually and as a team.
  • Develop teamwork for effective passing angles.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the playing area to increase pressure.
2. Limit the number of touches per possession.
3. Use only non-dominant foot for passing.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area.
2. Allow one wall player for each team inside the playing area.
3. Remove one ball from a cone to reduce targets.
