Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Balls (one per player)
  • Cones (to mark 20x20 area and corners)
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 1 player starts inside the area with a ball
  3. Equipment: 4 cones marking the corners of the 20x20 area, 1 ball per player
Instructions
  1. Players dribble freely within the square, maintaining close control.
  2. On coach's command, players dribble quickly to the nearest corner cone.
  3. They dribble around the outside of the cone, keeping the ball close.
  4. After rounding the cone, players return to the grid and continue dribbling.
  5. Repeat the process, encouraging speed and technique.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage consistent player participation.
  • Ensure the environment is fun and engaging.
  • Promote spatial awareness within the grid.
  • Reinforce close control with different foot parts.
  • Facilitate learning by allowing the game to guide.
  • Develop ability to change speed with the ball.
  • Adjust the area size depending on player count.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the area size to increase difficulty.
2. Introduce a time limit for reaching and returning from cones.
Make it easier:
1. Enlarge the playing area for more space.
2. Allow players to complete the task at a comfortable pace.
