Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • - Cones for marking the field
  • - Small goals
  • - Soccer balls
Setup
  1. Area: 30x20 area divided into three equal 10x20 yard zones marked with cones
  2. Goals: One small goal centred on each end line
  3. Team Red: 4 red outfield players, 2 positioned in the central zone as defenders and 1 positioned in each of the two 10x20 end zones as a defender
  4. Team Blue: 6 blue outfield players, 4 positioned in the central zone as attackers and 1 positioned in each of the two 10x20 end zones as a target attacker
  5. Equipment: Cones marking the outer boundary and the two zone dividing lines creating the three 10x20 sections, one small goal on each end line, soccer balls for the central zone attackers to start with
Instructions
  1. Players in the central zone maintain possession while looking to play a forward pass.
  2. When an opportunity arises, pass to the target players in the end zones.
  3. Target players aim to score quickly upon receiving the pass.
  4. Ensure quick decision-making and shooting at goal under pressure from defenders.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage constant communication among players.
  • Maintain good angles and distances for support.
  • Make quick and effective decisions, both on and off the ball.
  • Focus on the quality of the first touch.
  • Move proactively to receive passes.
  • Develop a positive, goal-oriented mindset.

Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the central zone to increase pressure on the attackers.
2. Add an additional defender in the central zone to create a 4v3 scenario.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the central zone to reduce pressure on the attackers.
2. Allow an additional attacker in the end zones to support in scoring.
3. Use neutral players in the central zone to aid possession maintenance.
